Agro business agriculture council, comprising eighteen representatives of branch associations of all fields of the sector, was established in the Ministry for Agriculture and Food, was reported from the Ministry.

Ivan Angelov, who is also a representative of the Product Board for Eggs, Poultry and Rabbit Meat, was elected for the chairman; deputy chairmen are Cyril Vatev, proprietor of TANDEM, and Krasimir Avramov, the Grain Producers National Association chairman. One of the Council general purposes will be to actualize the priorities, to solve immediately the problems in the agriculture field and to provide support to the small and medium agriculture producers, as it is in UN.

One of the most important aims, which the Agro Counsel makes, is working out a strategy for the development of milk producing in Bulgaria until 2009 and later, immediate establishment of a Food Safety Agency and optimizing the work with the Euro funds, Minister Valeri Tsvetanov emphasized.

The Agro business council will work in close connection with the Scientific Council and the Ministry experts to solve the problems in the various sectors.
